Our story
Esteem was founded by Steve Day in 1999. His brother Phil joined the team shortly afterwards. The brothers grew up helping within their parent’s car trimming business and then both joined Sunseeker – the British luxury motor yacht brand. Their 30 years of collective experience at Sunseeker has helped establish Esteem as the quality upholstery manufacturer it is known as today.
Esteem supports Sunseeker with their upholstery requirements as well as other large brands and private clients within the UK. The continued growth of Esteem through both commercial and private clients has enabled the business to relocate from Mitchell’s Boatyard to their own bespoke workshop in Poole.
Our team
We have a brilliant team of highly skilled individuals, who together bring over 100 years’ experience in marine upholstery to Esteem. Our team is made up of local craftspeople who specialise in design, sewing, upholstery and carpentry. The close-knit nature of our business means our approach is always personal and friendly; we pride ourselves on the excellent reputation of our team.

Whilst it’s exciting working on the latest fleet of superyachts, we’re equally as passionate about finding upholstery solutions for private boat owners. Being based on the edge of Poole Harbour we’re lucky to have worked on a wide range of marine craft, from 80-foot sailing yachts to award-winning jet skis.
